BERT VAN DEN HEUVEL, the artist behind i Art Bert.
The painter Bert van den Heuvel, born in Eindhoven in 1949, already showed a talent for drawing and a unique feeling for colours as a child.
After primary school, he trained as a house painter at the painting school in Boxtel. There he was stimulated to continue in the direction of the visual arts. Bert took various courses at the then "Free Academy" in Eindhoven and later he received lessons from various established painters.
Bert paints with various types of paint, of course with oil paint, but also with acrylic. He is a materials craftsman. He allows himself to be challenged by the material, which constantly creates new shapes and new combinations. Bert van den Heuvel's collection is very diverse, you will find abstract expressionism, impressionism and various sculptures made of wood, metal and plastic. He is inspired, among other things, by what is happening in nature around him. For his impressive series of trees, he used the remnants left behind from the large-scale tree felling that took place in the forest in Son in 2012.
He creates figurative and abstract art, in which the special use of color stands out. His work is literally of a heavy weight and always surprising.
